A Loyal Dog

There once was a loyal dog,

who was golden- and loved his master.

His master threw a ball in the road,

and he thought, "I'll just run a bit faster".

But then came a car, out of the corner of his eyes,

before he faded away- "At least I caught the ball."

he said, but he should have learned to stay.
