Loving sincerely

Revelation 2:3-4         New English Translation

3 I am also aware that you have persisted steadfastly, endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you: You have departed from your first love!

Loving

God looks not at our laboring but our love for Him

He should be first in all we are and the One that we desire

To abandon our first love after He saved us

It is embracing death again, just a cold artificial fire.

If we serve the Lord Jesus, it should be for love’s sake

For nothing less will do; anything else is the work of man

If Jesus is Lord of all, He should be overall our affections

He wants us to love others for His sake, just the best we can

Whatever is outside of Him should be considered fake

Whatever label we put on it brings a conscience like a thistle

Ways and cares of the world embraced for self-satisfaction

For our likes and lusts for comfort bring an end oh so grisly
