Love's Balancing Act

The greatest pain is in the heart

Managing to tear your mind apart

It can cause your life great disaster

If you allow it to be your master

But leave it out, you may grow cold

Ending up alone when you are old

It’s like you stand upon a ledge

Walking emotions razor edge

Lean to far you are consumed

Left  enslaved and truly doomed

A balance is hard to maintain

But an effort that can’t be in vain

For the heart can bring the greatest joy

Surely that can’t be just a ploy
