Lover Of Gods
(She said)
No museum piece for me,
of this sinuous insinuating night robe,
this triumph, my voyeur, I’ll live lilt to hilt,
heedless of yesterday, adrift on tomorrow,
subtlety tantalizing, reckless,
with high powered cupids aiming at my soul.
A bouquet for Eros, a new pipe for Pan,
I am the substance of which glamour resides,
this gift Ares cannot withstand,
I am Aphrodite.
(He said)
Dear, do not look at me darkly,
This shield I bare for all time.
Bloodshed and violence, my sisters,
enrages me out of my mind.
The temple to me in Agora,
holds no candle to you in its light,
your beauty has made me immortal,
has conquered all in my sight.
Our love rides the chariots,
together for eternity.
I’m the God of Olympos,
I’m the God Ares.
