Lover

Tue, 06/17/2014 - 17:41 -- Kataq
Spring I was young. A babe giddy and green
Daffodils weaved in my hair and feet bare
Frolicking like a forest sprite, a queen
To be. Cheeks pinkened, a secret to share
In Summer. Nights, the stars glittered and the moon,
Drunk and amorous, wed me in it's light
Then, I was eternal. I was attune
Until Autumn's jealous wind brought it's plight
A plague to shake and steal leaves from my tree
Left me stripped and barren. My bark grew cold.
Winter came kindly, vowed to set me free
Consoled me with my memories retold
In shattered mirrors falling from the sky
Spring's kiss roused me, beseeched me to retry
