I’ve never been in love, but I hope love feels like fireworks in your chest and butterflies in your stomach and music in your head and colors in your soul. Love is looking into someone’s eyes and seeing fractals and knowing you’re simultaneously looking into deep space. Love is knowing the secret to a mystery every scientist could ponder for years but still not know. Love is electric with the gentlest brush of two hands leaving you with a new outlook on life. Love sounds like every instrument in your head playing in perfect harmony with your heartbeat and looking into her infinite eyes and feeling her soft aliveness and forgetting about fighting with your parents or grades or war or famine and knowing that, just once, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be and there is no universe outside of this very moment. Love is the last day of school or 5 am on Christmas morning or remembering what youth is. Love is knowing you’re not alone and as you lean in to kiss her in the backseat of your old car and for once your inner monologue goes entirely silent. Love is screaming or laughing or crying or speaking in tongues or meditating or dreaming, with every thought of anxiety feeling so overwhelmingly positive that it turns into a deafening silence and talking without communicating and having your brain’s trillion thoughts a second and universe inside every neuron firing inside of you be unified and loving and appreciating it like a sunrise or the Sistine Chapel or acid trip and you finally take in everything that makes a person alive and you know it and there’s not even a word for what you’re thinking but if there was one it would just be “wow”.
