Love will Wait

I used to be frantic for love

Grasping for connections like

trying to catch a greased pig

An ironic analogy all things considered

I always felt like my time was running out

As if the hour glass was almost full

A missed opportunity away from eternity

As if spending life alone was a crime

Love isn’t on a schedule

Love does not rush or hurry

Love is woven through the fabric of time

Convincing generation after generation

That there is more life to be lived

Love. I’m sure I have loved

Perhaps have even been loved by another

But love was not ready

Love does not owe you readiness

Take the time to be you

Focus on what makes you happy

The reasons you learn to love yourself

For when love is finally ready, love will wait

For you
