Love Supreme

I see the blackness seeping from your twisted heart

Oozing contempt and putrid retrograded hate

I see the gleam in your eyes; shallow and insensitive

You preach the toxic sludge humanity once thrived upon; prejudice, ignorance.

Yet, In this world we cannot refuse to accept this behavior

We cannot hold your bigoted tongue and retract the slander that it spreads

For we should then be hypocrites, retreating on the precedence of democracy

The very same foundation that promises each man should live with certainty in three declarations;

Each man shall live with a sense of authority, with words not only to be spoken, but heard.

Each man shall live with a sense of accountability for his nation and his life and all that it shall hold.

Each man shall live with a sense of respect to his name, for he is innocent until proven guilty;

A man of flesh and bone that is dignified in his existence.

Yet still there are men who seek to use their authority, their honored words, with malevolence!

Still there are men who refuse to walk their path and own their actions!

Still there are men who abuse their dignity and condemn such rights to others; self-proclaimed

gods stripping away what it is to be a human being- an earthly soul!

I seek to change those tainted hearts, to wash away the hate; to soothe the fire that burgeons on

And still maintain the rights each man is entitled.

I wish for a profound understanding of love that will sear away the mistrust and dissension!

That is the change I hold dear.
