Love Over Lust

Is it love or is it lust?

Is it just the thought of us?

It’s the goofy faces and funny days,

It’s how you make me happy in a million different ways.

You can make me laugh until I cry,

You know how to make me feel alive.

You give me trust and great big hugs,

And like to buy me fancy coffee mugs.

When I’m sick you help take care of me,

Even though you’re a germaphobe and I’m not germ free.

You accept my obsession with dogs,

And don’t complain that I’m a blanket hog.

You can finish my sentences and my fries,

But you don’t tell me little white lies.

You support my decisions and never let me fail,

And because of this you have me under your spell

You have lots of respect for me,

And you get along with my family.

You pick me up when I’m down,

You can turn a bad day all around.

You don’t keep secrets; you’re honest with me,

And to find a person like that makes me more than lucky.

Love should not be forced nor should it be so free,

It should be meant for two people that are meant to be.

It should be in happiness and compassion,

Not about who has the better fashion.

It should never be who is right and who is wrong,

Together in life the two should move along.

It is about having more good days than bad,

And if you likes the same sports teams as my dad.
