Love at First Might

The grave hollows the lies
That are performative
For it reveals my own bondage
Shake the blocks crushing down my skirt
So it crumbles down the mirror of delusion
I hear the tinges of Spanish and patois curl on my body
As I swing across the porch like my Afro Panamanian abuelita
But yet I am silenced
You morph me to my dad but I revert back to my mother
Whose spirit lives on in the fruit
I would love to be know as king bayano
But switch to my Queen Patra
Break down the walls of trauma for progeny
Revert the generational trauma to liberatory healing
Liken it to the bakongo and mende ancestors whose names remain nameless
My forebears whose loss was taken of plunder and abuse of the unknown
Sifted and crumbles the gender binary
Screw Columbus and his minions
Hello McKay and Panama Brown
