Love and death ...

Love and death … Shulamite to her beloved ... Song of Solomon 8: 6-7

“Set me as a seal upon your heart ... a seal upon your arm.

for love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as the grave,

its flames as flames of fire”

Love is hard to understand ... for it seems to fade

I guess it takes over the ‘who” I am and molds me into His image

I am losing self as I am changed ... as I am overlaid

in the inner-man, where I live ... formed to be His vintage

“love” is strong as death ... so Love can overcome that

God is Love in fullness ... and we love one another

Love will be forever and the Eternal understands that

It overcame the world ... to prepare the perfect other

Before the foundation of the world ... Love was already ruling

and at the end of our temporal ... Love is still in charge

It is not how man behaves or how much he invests in schooling

but how he lives His life in Love ... as Grace will lead the charge

To believe His Love for God’s sake ... rather than feel it just for me

As God nurtures me in His walk ... I’ll move from feeling to believing

Without my emotions quiet and calm ... I may hear the voice and see

that through soft intuition ... in Christ I am set free
