Love

I thought love was one thing,

I thought it was an overwhelming emotion

A binding agent

A blinding agent

Something to abandon yourself for just to have a taste

Something that I knew I needed

I thought it was unconditional acceptance

That it never harshly corrected

That it only told me about the good and shielded me from the bad

But I learned love burns

It Consumes

It changes you

It tells you the truth

It corrects you and keeps you safe

It can be misunderstood but wants what's best from you

4Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud

5or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.

6It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Love saved me, lifted me, gave me a new name, became my father,

and taught me to show what it looked like to others

It wasn't easy and I was resistant, but love loved me enough to tell me the truth.

Because love lives I live

Because God loves I live

Because God is love I love

God's love

God is love

Love always wins
