You were a bet I lost

It seems like I gambled a little too hard

I tried to keep you around but it all fell to the ground

I was wrong in every way

All I wanted was for you to stay with me

But when I look in those ember eyes

What I saw was no surprise

They said, "get away from me."

I guess it's wrong to apologize

So I guess it's wrong to be hurt too.

So I guess I made my own demise

Between you and I, there is no compromise

Mr. Louisiana Street, I'm so sorry for everything

I promise to you I'll stay away from you for good.

Please just listen to me before you walk away from me

These are my sorry, sorry pleas

To fix what I have broken

It's not okay to leave it as it is

But you won't listen

So I guess I'll start walking away now

Before we go deeper in to this

Goodbye Louisiana Street

Goodbye to the sidewalk our feet shared

Goodbye to the halls and desks where we sat

And to the times when we both cared.
