The Lost People

You look at them, You ignore them,  Not paying any attention. You hear their cries,  but you go deaf. You see their pain,  but you go blind. They cry out for help,  but you don't answer. All they need is something little. They don't ask for much,  all they want is someone to talk to. Someone to be their friend, to support them. They ask for money, but you go poor. They ask for friends, but you become an enemy. They ask for forgiveness, but you forget them. Where were you when they needed you? Where were you when they asked for help? Where did you go, and why did you leave? They needed you, and you left them. Why? What did they do wrong? Now they're gone. Now it's too late. Look what you did. Let it sink in. This is what you have to deal with. You should have answered. You wish you answered. But would you have answered?
