Lost the Fight

Location

It was a cold March day

That's when I got the call

And I hadn't had much to say

But then I started to bawl

They let me know

that you let go

you left me without a goodbye

but only god knows why

you were strong

but maybe for too long

you shone so bright

but couldn't fight

I couldn't believe you'd lost your life

It left the family in a strife.

You left without a warning

And I found out the next morning

But it never left my mind

that you left me behind.

My own dad

that never treated anyone bad

Had lost the fight

And lost his life.
