Open up these swollen eyes

Looking up at ashen skies

Cold rain pelts my cheek

I feel as though I'm so weak.

Sorrow swelling in my chest

I need some to find a way, time to rest.

These open wounds once again torn apart.

Bleeding slowly, aching; my poor heart.

Swallowed in my insanity

Help me exhale this vanity.

Release this demon taking hold

For I fear it is my time to fold.

Darkness consuming me from every side

The light has gone, there is no place to hide.

I search for you, but you're not there

So foolish for thinking you cared.

The cold hands of despair have me in their grasp

They say it won't hurt, that it will not last.

I give into the destruction they whisper softly in my ear

Then I lift my head up and scream, "I cannot show my fear."

Laughter ringing abroad in the night

Continuing I think I have lost this fight.

Sufferage, pain, I feel no longer

Emptines resides; The feeling stronger.

Hate replaces all I once knew

The love we shared, I gave it back to you.

Along with my battered heart in your hands

Will you cry now or take a stand?
