Losing A friend

A smile or two is all that can last,

when summers or autumns seem always to pass.

Maybe just maybe, when winters are done,

it'll all melt away by the glorious sun.

Friends come and go, though I guess that's expected,

some lose their hearts, and some are affected.

We'll go our own way, or maybe we won't,

some say we do, and some say we don't.

What happened I wonder, to make this all go,

a display of furry and frenzy like a firework show.

Emotionally lost, I wish we'd be friends,

but now all I can do, is sit and pretend.
