Looking at The Road Ahead

Mon, 01/06/2014 - 11:37 -- Rwadley

I often wonder where my life will go

After highschool and college.

 Become a traveling nurse, live and work in different countries;

They're just plans, suceptible to change.

Yet it's okay to dream.

Starting off in England,

I would enjoy a tea break from nursing

In a well-known hospital in London.

Demanding ER work, long hours, bloody issues.

Off the job, I'd venture the streets, explore the city,

See a cute boy or two, do whatever elsethere is to do.

Shopping for Gucci, Ralph Lauren, or Belstaff wouldn't be so bad either.

Moving up to Denmark.

Suprisingly, it rarely snows up there, which isn't bad.

It wouldn't interfere with going to Oden's Zoo,

Showing off my Danish-speaking abilities.

Who knows how long I'll stay in Scandinavia?

Maybe I'll find Mr. Right.

Starting another job further south, Spain is full of life.

Those beautiful flamenco dresses with bright festive colors

Whirling around in Seville, Barcelona's captivating architecture,

Dancing to the rythm of salsa, bachatta, merengue.

When not enjoying the rhythm of the music,

I'd love speaking Spanish with my coworkers and patients.

What use am I if I can't speak the native language?

Switzerland's nice to visit in between travel jobs.

It doesn't get  too hot or too cold, contrary to what I deal with now.

People take their time with life, not rushing into anything.

With German and possibly Italian added to my language bank,

I would then know at least five languages.

Oh! I almost forgot the chocolate! I have to try the chocolate.

However, remember when I said it's a nice place to visit?

Sex equality is still an issue over there.

Not my ideal situation to live in.

Meaning and purpose are what I'm looking for in my life.

Living with no regrets is always on my mind.

Even though my plans could change at any time,

I do know that I want to enjoy my everchanging world,

Do what's right, and stick to what I believe in no matter what.
