Look at You

Look at you,

You're living, alive.

Look at you,

A body full of life.

Look at you.

I want you to hear me,

Be affected by what I say.

I know it sounds selfish,

But I want some way

To know that I'm inspiring someone.

Maybe you're starting high school,

Unsure of yourself.

Without goals in mind

You blend in on the shelf

Of the thousands of other kids that go to your school.

Maybe you're a senior,

Not knowing what you'l do next

Your future uncertain,

Your skills not the best.

You wonder if you'll actually make it somewhere.

Maybe you're the girl,

Staring at that knife,

Wondering how much it would hurt,

How much your parents would strife.

Does anyone actually love you?

I want you to know I've been there.

Unsure of myself,

Future unknown,

That knife on the shelf.

You are important, no matter what anyone says.

Look at you,

You're living alive.

Look at you,

A body full of life.

Look at you.

You're beautiful.
