My head is stuck to the dining room table 

tears streaming into little puddles 

Suddenly I feel the sun’s rays shining down on my sadness

I lift up my head

I absorb the sun that provides me with my food

I listen to the little birds singing a beautiful tune

I answer with my own though not as in tune

My dog comes and places her soggy mouth on my lap

I smile and laugh

I hear my favorite song come on the radio

The bass pounding in rhythm to my heartbeat

The melody rushing through my brain

Soon I hear my voice join in

loudly busting out the catchy lyrics

My mind commands my feet to get up out of the chair

and start dancing in time 

Soon my butt is wiggling

My brother comes in the room

looks at me weirdly and walks away laughing

I too, start laughing 

I go outside

I twirl and I twirl 

and end up flat in a blanket of grass

I stretch my legs and arms out

I soak up the sun 

I soak up life

Life is awesome if we let it be
