As long as ...

1 Thessalonians 5:5

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.

As long as...

Here we go again ... already daily life infringes

Even before daylight it wants to get its share

It is kind of comical ... how it claims “its” rights

While the night is still here ... it just does not seem fair

Daylight smiles and claims ... to be most of my life

Yes it is so certain ... that I try to follow her path

It claims to know for sure ... that night has no light at all

That seems rather strange ... even though all fall for that

Jesus was judged in the night ... does that make the nights so bad?

He was crucified in the day ... does that make every day so sad?

He arose in the night or ... was it rather early in the day?

Does it make a difference ... as long as He arose to stay?

Is in everlasting a day ... bound by continuing hours?

Are there timeslots in that place ... that keep you from running late?

You must be kidding ... for in Eternal time is non-existing

And the Glory of God ... always lights up the entire place

Oh! Creatures of temporary ... existence rules the temporal day

It has nothing to do with living ... for that is Eternal all the way

Get out of that frame of mind ... and get into true spiritual life

Where no boundaries are set before you ... where time is nullified

Open your arms to Heaven ... embrace the ruler there

Then you’ll know His presence ... is to be found everywhere

Build on hope the assurance ... that in faith the things you’ll see

From now into the ever ... you’ll be assured and always be
