The Lonely Siren

The Sea is a lonely place.

The lovely girl only desires to share her heart

But where can a siren start?

The reefs are bare.

No Instagram down there.

She finds another siren

Her nose is in the air.

Her own people don't know how to care.

The society is selfish

Not much different than ours on land.

Thinking of themselves,

never getting their fins out the sand.

She sees a land boy.

He's surfing the waves

He seems at home in the water.

Maybe he is who she is looking for.

His jet black hair and estatic grin.

What would it be like to be with him?

The girl sings her soul

desiring to be complete and whole

A Companion at last.

The boy complies

with fear in his eyes

As he feels a pull to the depths.

The voice is so strong and powerful

He cannot fight.

He is lured like sailors of old.

His eyes widen at the beautiful siren.

She smiles and holds him.

He desperately points up.

The Siren wonders what is the matter with him?

She puts her lips on his, as his eyes begin to close.

His world becomes dark

As the sea overcomes him.

The siren shakes the boy.

He was suppossed to be the one!

How could he leave her?

She sobbed at what she had done.

The sea is a lonely place.
