Loneliness…Nothing But A Feeling

by Daisy Montes

You walk alone...slowly because you have nowhere to go.
Every step you take
You get closer to falling
into darkness…

You listen, but no one talks to you.
You can hear the laughter, but you're not encouraged to join.
You see the smiles on people’s faces which you rarely see on your own.

But then you see that person.
The one that makes you smile.
The one who tells you that everything will be okay.
The one who sees you fall, but helps you back up.
The one who lights up your world just like the light at the end of a dark tunnel
Or like the moon light which lightens up the night.

Hope.
You dream.
You begin to recognize your strengths.
You see how independent you can be.
You learn that being alone is not really being alone.
It just means you took a different path.
A path less travelled by others because it is you who decides what to do.
It is you who will make your dreams come true.
But we must all be alone at certain points in order to achieve those dreams.
Falling is not a problem…getting back up usually is.
Be motivated and you will achieve anything you wish.
