Lines

Not enough time for goodbye.

Since the world is calling you

Off to places without me.

It's as if your out stretched hand

Is nothing more than vapors

Rising from uncaring stone.

I know you are close to me,

But the distance is growing

Just like the thunder above.

As I watch; you're shrinking back

From all the things you won't know

And all the people you'll leave.

Mine is a different pain.

More along the lines of this:

Never saying what you mean,

Hiding from uncertainties,

And above all not saying

how you're leaving will break me.

We're standing on cracking glass,

But I'm too scared to move now

Since you won't be there to help.

How can your life continue

While mine starts crumbling down?

I ache for your happiness.

I'm jealous of your glory.

Since I'm not sure I'll get there

Without losing hart and mind.

Promise this won't be the end,

Because if we make the vow

I'll feel obliged to keep it.

I want to run to you and

Tell you how much you'll be missed

By your unsure and scared friend.

The friend who won't push feelings

For fear of the changes they'll bring...
