Lights in the Night

It was late one night.

Driving around, not a care, I felt so light.

Oh my! I was high as kite!

While I thought I couldn't be bothered, my friend let out a holler.

"COPPER!"

Oh my! What a fright!

Red and blue lights in my mirror, I could no longer see clear.

A quick whisp of wind, the cop took me within.

Cold metal on my skin, this was not a win.

Stared at my friend as they took me away, I was thinking to myself...

"How did I get this way?"

A moment of realness. Common sense left behind.

Had I listened to momma, I wouldn't of had to say "I'm sorry your'honna."
