They say we have the right to be civil
The right to be right
But not the right to be white
The right to be different
The right to be cool
But not the right to rule
My God is white and so is my soul
But the god of inequality is black as coal
Don’t say I’m wrong
Cuz Lord knows I’m right
My skin may be darkness
But I walk in the light
