Life's Liberating Glow

Look out, what do you see?

            A Child? A Bird? A Cat? A Tree?

I see a world, one of possibilities.

You see the dirt. The grass. The seeds.

I see life sprouting through me.

            Maybe it’s messy, I’m sure you’ll agree.

But who cares if you can still breathe.

            Yes, things may get hard.

But are they giving up?

That Child? That Bird? That Cat? That Tree?

Are they laying down?

            No, they’re standing free.

Up above the weights that bind,

Remaining strong for all to find.

So go, sit. Relax and mime.

            Become flesh with the world,

 One at a time.

Watch the pain, the hurt, the greed.

See all the burdens get set free.

It’s not hard, no ache, only redeeming to see,

All the struggles of the world find their way past that tree.

Past that cat, past that bird, away from the child they go.

Letting everyone bask in life’s liberating glow.

            Hold onto that moment,

Keep it for everyone to see.

            Show them you’re awesome,

And so are they.
