Life - The Ultimate Gift

Life. . . something that is a spectacular,

which can be uplifted or taken away,

but it seems that we prefer the latter,

Daily people are dieing, horrible and gruesome deaths,

because we view one another as if they dont matter,

and we began to treat people as means to an end,

not considering their worth and intrinsic value,

Have we really pondered the matter?

Never do we stop and think that each person could be our friend,

but in the end, life is a gift and it ought to be valued.

Also do we consider that our days are short,

and yesterday was indeed yesterday?

But to many of us, life is far from from precious,

yet there is no stopping the injustice and debauchery,

when our minds just keep hopping,

from place to place and thing to thing,

we get caught in a cycle of uneasiness,

wanting more than we already have,

and sometimes taking what is not ours,

killing because we are "upset" or "mad,"

When is the madness going to end?

We must remember that people are people,

and therefore should be treated as such,

because if not, we will continue to treat others with malice,

then life will be viewed as a battefield,

that leaves people buried six feet under,

As the 17 year old adolescent that i am,

I have learned: we must distinguish,

between what we want and what we need,

In reality, all we need is to be grateful that we exist

because life is a gift and ought to be taken as value.
