Life: Pointless or Purpose
Wondering where I'm going to,
asking but nobody knows,
wishing there was some way
I could find all my answers.
It's all the same old questions
of who's and what's and where's and when's
and hoping no one notices
how lost I feel inside,
But the secret to it all
is they're feeling just as lost.
We don't know where we're going 'cause
we hardly know where we've been.
We want answers to questions
but don't quite know what to ask.
We wish we knew the future
and the truth behind it all,
but we're running round in circles
til we all fall down.
Why is it so hard to know
what to do and where to go?
If only we could figure out
the plan, this life, everything else,
then maybe we would feel some kind
of peace and fulfillment.
Maybe the real problem lies
in seeking sources full of lies
and believing in our souls that what
they're saying is all true.
Instead maybe we need
to be still, to stop and see
That the whole time we've been moving,
going hard, pushing onward,
we've really been missing out on
what our lives really mean.
We can have a purpose
a life that means so much more than
the stuff we tell ourselves will make us
special and happy.
Instead we can seek true life
when we live to follow Christ.
He shows us there's a better way
to live your life than for payday.
Focusing on stuff and things
will always be pointless.
Sure you feel good for a minute,
but you can feel good every second
when you welcome in the One who saved
you from your pain and sin.
He gives joy and peace and love,
and He saved us all because
He has a mission, has a goal,
for His people to follow.
If we will live the life He calls us
to take up for Him.
We can share this joy and love
with basically everyone
through the Gospel of the Son
who saved us forever.
He created a place for us
to live in His glory forever.
Wondering where I'm going to,
asking but nobody knows,
wishing there was some way
I could find all my answers.
It's all the same old questions
of who's and what's and where's and when's
and hoping no one notices
how lost I feel inside,
But the secret to it all
is they're feeling just as lost.
