Life in a Letter

Dear Mom, Dad, Sis, and Brother,

And my dear beloved other,

Dear the squish of soft, wet clay,

And an overdue Good Day,

Ukulele indie bands,

Graphite smudged across my hands,

Nail polish and brand-new clothes,

Many binge-watched TV shows,

Anime I found so cute,

Metallic taste from the flute,

Flash games on the internet,

Grade school friends I won't forget,

Books of action and romance,

The twirling, whirling world of dance,

Magenta-colored training wheels,

And cheesy macaroni meals,

The stories that mother once read,

And blankets from my baby bed:

This letter is from me to you,

To tell you all that I love you

Love,

Gabby

I wrote this poem in reverse chronological order about things from my life that I loved.

If I could write a letter to something or someone, I would write it to all of the mentioned things in the poem to tell them thanks for making my life special.

Each line represents a year of my life, roughly.
