Life As I knew It

Life as I knew it was not fair

I was thrown from here to there.

Never knowing where I might sleep

My poetry was all I had to keep.

I would write for days upon end

The words that flowed slowly started to make my heart mend.

The more I wrote the more problems faded away

Poetry taught me I can carve my own way.

Poetry honestly saved my life

For I was about to take it away with a knife.

Until that night I layed it down for a pen

From then on there never was an end.

I honestly owe my life to poetry

It taught me how to live, to love, to just sit and ponder life up in a tree.

No one ever knew how rough my life got

But no matter what happens my thoughts and poems i will forever jot.
