The Life of a Diabetic

Location

Only with a finger prick,

do we truly see what lies within.

What can you do,

when your own body decides to attack you?

From the inside out,

you slowly die.

Faster than most,

yet unnoticeable to the eye.

Only with a finger prick,

do we truly see what lies within.

The body has attacked itself and begins to tick,

with messages written from an evil source.

The young girl then forced,

to become a mature adult,

over a short span of times course.

All words spoken are soft,

anger has no place here.

If you can't predict,

can't see,

can't know,

until it's almost too late,

how can you protect against it?

Diabetes effects more than just her,

it effects everyone to ever be close to her.

All coaches, friends, boyfriends, best friends,

are required to know,

to try and protect themselves and she,

from herself.

You can't tell from the outside,

but with a finger prick,

do we truly see what lies within.
