life continues on (with or without me)

Location

My thoughts were once dark, grey clouds
Scattered and foreshadowing out a lucid, clear view
I used to let the cold, gusty winds put powerful, excessive force to my body
As I sat and waited for the skies to be crystal clear

the shadows enlarges a reflection of me behind my back
I face the sun, absorning its radiating heat
And allow its light to illuminate a brighter world for people to be thankful for
One that I am eager to be a part of, and create my legacy

Now even when the night engulfs me
I do not fear of seeing the unseeing
I do not hesitate at the return of the sun as i embrace with grace that symbolizes life
For I am prepared to see another day

I do not hide like tears of rain pouring its cries
I reach the sky along with the trees
I stand my ground with the mountains
i watch and absorb like an eagle establishing its peace

And even when the faces will change
I find the initiative to adapt
under my feet I feel the world turning, evolving to newer heights
I do not falter because I know life continues on (with or without me)

I have stood on the shoulders of giants
Better men who have allowed a path for me to walk
I walk with their ghosts along contorted paths
I carry their lessons to pave the way for lost souls

And now I know all my wrongs provide a second chance to be right
Increments of time expose virtues to an open mind
And now on mountain tops where I combat the cold gusts
I strike the wind with sighs of relief
