Life in the Clouds

Location

I look out the window on a cloudy day
Only to see the pellets of rain
Keeping the illustrious sun at bay.

I notice the drops as they feign
A glorious waterfall of glass.
The sapphires will twinkle and reign

The endless sky til the storm comes to pass.
Likewise, I imagine, as one might presume I can,
Marveling at amber grains swirling in an hourglass.

For as long as I see the infinite wan
Attempts for the shifting sand to flee
Its prison of crystal, I know its span

Of time overlooks skies just as cloudy
As the skies beyond the glass that I see.
