Life

People say I'm beautiful.

People say I'm nice.

But every time they say it,

I have to look twice.

My hair is curly and nappy.

My skin is chocolate dark.

I don't wear the latest fashions.

I don't even talk.

I'm quiet, shy, and not social.

I go to school then come home.

Not talking to a soul.

My parents think it's a phase,

But I know that it's not.

I know that this my

Life.
