Liberation

Sun, 07/01/2018 - 14:33 -- Kittson

Waiting, writhing

my words yearning,

for freedom through writing.

Freedom from thoughts

that encumber me,

freedom from emotions

that smother me,

freedom from a mire

that i entrenched myself in,

freedom from the blackness

that dwells within.

This blackness, this bleakness,

this barbaric being,

sits inside my heart,

silently screaming.

A need for freedom

envelops my soul,

a need to let out

what i have barricaded inside.

A pen is my lifeline,

connecting to the blackness

it writes, pooling and freeing

my words, inky figures taking

shape- my words, finally

liberated
