Letter to My Daughter
Dear Daughter,
The strange man
who you called father
was only looking to bruise you at night
The homeless man on the train
who raved about your beautiful breasts
only wanted to fondle with them
The drunken teenage boy
who told you to take your clothes off
was only looking to use you inappropriately
The amateur gynecologist
who confirmed your pregnancy
would only recommend murder
The kind mother
who said she loved you no matter what
only lived on a lie
The fake best friend
who carried knives to protect you from rumors
will only stab you with them
The caring nurse
who delivered your child
was the only person to hold your hand
The smiling couple
who took the child away
would only make you cry
The herd of policemen
who found your prune corpse inside the muddy river
only dumped it in an existing hole at the cemetery
The oblivious daughter
who now lives with a loving family
only deserves to know what the world made her mother suffer through
Love,
Your Mother
(who does not expect forgiveness but
only wants you to realize her fatal mistakes)
