A Letter Home

i search for the remnants of the place i rest my head

under a roof and four walls confine a queen sized bed

a flannel cocoon where your words linger like ghosts

stuck to the walls and lurking in my head

do you recall the nights the roses illuminated

to you I shed my light and our fears evaded

vines intertwined

cries of reverence serenaded

i'm a lonesome vessel of adoration

a subject of your guised predation

you came to me for escape

And to quench your infatuation

all to do now is carry on

can't bring you back with a magic wand

i'm searching for a place to rest my head

because you were my home and now you're gone
