Sometimes i sit with a pen & pad to reflect

This is an art-form that my passion wants to perfect

Spoken Word holds the power to grasp the attention of those who wanna reject

But are too perplexed by what is being said

These aren't bars I'm speaking it's simply the thoughts in my head

So if all your hearing is negativity listen to what I have to say instead

I'm a teen you're a teen so we all see the same things

Peer pressure, envy, hatred, depression, and even jealousy

We constantly talk about how people are certain ways in this generation

But do nothing except carry those same labels throughout the nation

I'm confused, we want a change without us having to change

A change requires us to do something

None of us are perfect but we can strive to be

Leaders start from 1 to 10 to 100 to countless so stand with me

Don't “fake it till you make it” “believe it to achieve it”

Start your story and point the glory one way

You don't need a status quo to be considered a leader today

I don't care what your GPA if you're intelligent

I don't care how worthless you think you are you’re delicate

I don't care if you think you’re ugly you're beautiful

I don't care if your poor you are rich in truth

Today is proof that we as youth

Can change a generation and move the nation

With faith in salvation, motivation, inspiration, dedication, application, and innovation

One way, one truth, one light so let that light shine bright

If you don't how to start go the to the places that is full of neglect

Because we often forget

That there are roses from concrete

And a higher intellect in the graceful net

Don’t be afraid in the darkest hour

Don’t let discourage be the higher power

Beyond the skies there’s no limit so start your climb
