"Let There Be Light"

Humans naturally fear the dark
But welcome light,
A bright spark,
A flame
However, light often leads to pain
For it illuminates our wrongs
And we are visible and transparent
All our sins apparent
Yet light is still loved
Because without it, we would be lost
Myths tell of Prometheus
Who suffered a great cost
To become the bringer of light
Scripture, even more so,
Calls God, a man who suffered more than we know,
"The Way," "The Truth," and "The Light"
Light represents truth
And truth is the window from which all light shines through
It is a curious thing, that at once, we knew,
In an instant we had a magical thing
That, with four words, was spoken into being
Something that transforms our world,
Once opaque,
Into something truly remarkable,
A world once asleep,
Now awake.
