Let Me Go

This is my tomb, a never ending void.

A creation of an alternate reality

Caused by the flick of your hand.

My words lost in the echoes below, watching you walk away over and over.

These words of hate embedded in my heart being in the presence of you.

Each time you confess your love for me, the hypocritical smile widens and seers me every time.

The dark love strangles my heart with thorns in each word like barb wires.

I fought for you, given the best I could.

Considered yourself enlightened when I say I was never yours to reckon with.

Yet I still see you here.

You brought me into the world only to remind me of being such an inconvenience. You promised me the sky and the world only to toss me aside into the abyss below.

But if you love me like you say you do...

Let me go.

My fighting spirit has been in a never ending slumber for such a time.

Stop trying to resuscitate something that is already gone.

Your philosophies and outlook are far from flawless.

You subtracted yourself from my life and taken the pieces with you.

You added yourself in a new equation and left us all out of it.

Now you decided to add into what you've taken from?

Consider yourself enlightened when I say truth be told, I was never yours to begin with.

But if you love me like you say you do,

Let me go.

Do not attend the service and burial when you are the one behind the loaded gun.

The force tightening around my neck like a noose, refusing to let me go,

Tying me up high and tight so I can't get loose.

Open your eyes when I say I am no longer attainable by you, I was never yours from the start.

But if you love me like you say you do,

Let me go.

Do not journey into the crypt,

Hoping to find something more than what was said.

Denying the closet you hide tombs of the ones you left behind.

The urns and coffins, all of which you built for each one.

You lock the door and toss the key.

Leaving us all behind to be forgotten.

Truth be told, we were never yours to begin with.

But if you love us like you say you do,

Let us go.

You will never change, you will always stay the same.

When you wake up one day and realize how much life seems like the cemetery,

How much truth the quiet will scream to you in the night,

It will not be long until you join the rest of us in this misery.

Truth be told, I was never yours to begin with.

But if you love me like you say you do,

Let me go.
