Legacy

Location

I want to leave a mark on the world

Not just any colon or comma

One that inspires the heart

Something bold like an exclamation,

Sharp!

Within past history whether it be

Black or tan

Whether it be woman or man

Martin Luther King or Mahat M'Ghandi

The impression left behind had weight

Distance Depth Legacy

What history do we create now?

Imprisonment... it means I put up a fight

Violence it had to be done like it's a right

Women are objects who only want objects.

Children are baggage,

passed off and aborted like an unwanted package.

We focus on only living once, Y.O.L.O.

As if we aren't responsible for our own soul, SOLO

When we die will it show that we lived?

Or just an eraser mark soon to be forgotten.

I want to leave a mark on the world

Not just any colon or comma

One that inspires the heart

Something bold like an exclamation,

Sharp!

I want to be remembered

Not just leaving any mark,

that could be joy or pain

But a period like an incomplete thought

used again and again...
