The Leaves

they desperately cling

to their withering branches

praying that the cold

wont come

wont bring autumn’s wrath

the frosty fire that ignites their world

and engulfs them in flames

in yellows, oranges, reds, they blaze

to weak to grasp their branches

they fall

silently screaming

a fiery genocide
