Learn to Love

Mon, 11/05/2018 - 12:56 -- tcm2019

I ran

Around

The world

Wondering

What

I could

Find there.

I found

A mission

Wrapped

In gold

With

Cactus

Flowers

In

Her hair.

She spoke

Soft

Strong

Words

Still ringing

In

My ears.

She said,

“Humanity

Painted

A story

Untold

Of sadness

Suppression

Fear.

Don’t let

The story

Hurt you

Let

It teach

Instead.

A book

Left under

Covers

Is better

Read

Instead.

Once

You hear

This story

Soak

It into

Your soul

Cry

For at least

A bit

Mourn

The hatred

We have let

Grow.

Now take

This hate

And let it

Die

Let love

Grow

In

Its place.

Let light

Into

Your

Eyes

A

Light

That

Puts

The sun

To shame.

Now show

Your glow

To others

Let it

Spread

In all its

Glory.

Walk with humanity

Hand in hand

And let us not repeat

That terrible story.”
