Lay hold

1 Timothy 6:12           New English Translation

12 Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.

Eternal life today has a mysterious way of appearance

If only you could see the place God has prepared for you

In full assurance and hope, thought and perseverance

Every phenomenon of death loses power through the truth

Many went before us and showed us this way of life

Abraham, Moses, and David, Paul, Daniel, and Joshua

They were folks like us who peeked into the Eternal

To see the place prepared before Christ’s rugged Cross

Matthew 4:4    New English Translation

But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

“Man shall not live by bread alone,” so easily forgotten,

“but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Do we know when God is speaking or listen when He whispers?

To explain the secrets of purpose that He shows to each alone.
