The Lavender Plant

My fiancee bought a tiny lavender plant
Which I have started to water when she's not home
to take care of it.
That I give another living thing besides myself
my attention takes me into the realm of love
Having the lavender to take care of
takes me outside my anxiousness to
create something from myself
When the muse seems hopeless to find
Since our apartment doesn't allow for pets
or children
She's the closest thing to
a daughter for us
My fiancee is right, we do need
to give more thought into the front of
our apartment, it's appearance.
That itself is art
When the hands fail

This poem is about:
Me
My family
