Last year, New Situation
Having been accepted into a college-prep high school,
The exhilaration spread through my body like sparks.
Enrolled as a dual student in a community college,
I was on the edge of two worlds.
Listening and learning viewpoints,
My mind was expanding beyond my horizons.
Prioritizing assignments and projects,
Managing-only barely.
Mother and father pushing me for a better grades,
Their intense glares root me to my spot, unble to retort.
Eager to leave for school each passing day,
For that was the only place I didn't loose my temper.
