Last rites
Last rites
Philippians 3:8-9
8 More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things—indeed, I regard them as dung!—that I may gain Christ, 9 and be found in Him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness—a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ’s Faithfulness.
The best I have ... the best I give appear like filthy rags.
In the realm of Holiness nothing measures up.
Even the entire universe is totally decaying.
Like swollen bags under one's eyes ... who's to give up.
Mother of pearl ... flesh of swine walking hand in hand.
No beauty seen in their decay ... just there for survival.
One for greed and one for flesh ... sacrificed for man.
Like all things that surround ... appearing like revival.
Heads of stone ... hearts to match ... wearing down resistance
of Love to stand and survive as part of Eternity.
The hunger is and always be to be filled with others
in compassion and in peace to fill Eternity.
Not in self the answer is found ... but in our Creator.
Who wants us to be all in All and join Him in that feast.
No more flesh as we know ... no more of that hindrance.
Just with Him and His Son glorified in peace.
Philippians 3:10-11
10 My aim is to know Him, to experience the power of His resurrection, to share in His sufferings,
and to be like Him in His death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
It is now I tell you ... now I am delivered.
Now is now and here is here ... no waiting in the wings.
Crucified with Christ ... death has been defeated,
even though it seems at times not to be the real thing.
Philippians 3:12
12 Not that I have already attained this—that is, I have not already been perfected—
but I strive to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me.
Pressing on to claim it ... reaching with both hands
gazing at The Son ... as works fall by the side.
To attain all of Christ ... the things I planned so dearly
appear now as worthless ... ready for last rites.
