"Laid Up"

Your light brown eyes flair at the sight of the sun

But can you stop focusing them on many girls and just one?

Your lips are soft when they are pressed against mine

But can you desire to keep them to yourself, and only give me the time?

Your dark skin is warm when we lay together on your bed

But is it me you really want there, or do you just want to fill an empty space instead?

Your hands slowly guide mine to your tatted chest in the night

But when will you figure out that this decision is one that is right?

Your legs cross over to my body when you fall asleep next to me

Can you realize that I'll be there to get you back on your feet whenever you need?

I’ll be there whenever, and you know that’s true

Like how I'm here right now, in this room

Being laid up warm, next to you
