waking up

hair awry

you look up, and stare at the ceiling breifly

It's a new day

The sun streams in like crystal beams from the drawn shades

bed.

so you curl up, entrapped in the warmth of the covers

but inevitably as the sun get's brighter, you must wake.

walking into the bathrom

hands rested on the sink

leaning in staring at the reflection

at your complexion.

You see flaws, but them...

they see beauty.

pulling out makeup, you try to cover any sign of imperfection.

what imperfection?

in your reflection?

of your complexion?

beauty.

imperfections.

beauty.

which is it?

to see beauty

or to see imperfection.

to cover up is to hide your beauty

but to cover up is comfort

bed.

blankets.

comfort is flawed

to be flawless...beautiful, is to reveal.

come out of the covers.
